Statement of Beliefs Guiding the Ministry
at the Soul Care Center
The Soul Care Center is a faith based, spirit led counseling, coaching and training center located in Stark County, Ohio. Our desire is to help you become a healthy, mature disciple of Jesus Christ. Below find our ministry guidelines explaining why we do what we do the way we do it! It is our deepest belief that we are called to help individuals mature in their personal relationship with God. In so doing, we know they will find both healing and fulfillment.
Twelve Core Principles of Ministry
1. We believe we must rely on Christ to minister through us to others. We realize our greatest contribution comes from an overflow of our own personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We are faithful to our part while entrusting ministry outcomes to God Himself.
2. We believe that we are called to seek first the Kingdom of God and to partner with Him to advance His Kingdom here on earth.
3. We believe in approaching all aspects of life through an eternal focus. We are called to build from an eternal perspective that is radically different from worldly priorities. We invite others to explore what it means to have life in Jesus Christ and to live according to His paradigm.
4. We believe one’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the single most important focus in life. All else is influenced by the quality of one's intimacy with God. Therefore, we help others form a Scripturally accurate vision of God and themselves.

5. We believe only a genuine encounter with God’s love brings about true heart healing and life transformation. As intimacy with God increases we discover our true identity, security, significance, and life purpose. Ultimately this aligns with God's will to form Christ in us.
6. We believe personal growth happens in a context of support, encouragement, accountability and love. We call this a "S.E.A.L." environment. We seek to create such a culture in our individual relationships and group trainings. 7. We believe health takes precedence over functionality. We treat root issues that produce the fruit that is seen. The emphasis is on addressing beliefs, not just “behavior modification”. This mirrors the concept Jesus presents when He says, “First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.” 8. We believe in a holistic approach to ministry. We recognize the interaction between one's spiritual, emotional, physical, relational and financial well-being. Difficulty in any one area will likely impact all others. 9. We believe each individual is responsible for his/her own choice to obey God and walk in faith. 10. We believe in an emphasis on people, not programs. We believe we are called to make “ready a people” for the manifest presence of God. This mission defines us. Program structures remain flexible and fluid to achieve that end. 11. We believe God speaks intimately to each of His children today. We believe personal revelation must align to the character of God and His principles sets forth in Scripture. 12. We believe in releasing all members of Christ’s body into their true calling; seeking unity and maturity in the Body. |
